Marcel Marceau has died

I’m at a loss for words.

Union City Bluer

Some kind of psychic karma must have been going on tonight.  No sooner than I posted on the Blondie saga, I read that Hilly Kristal had died.  Hilly Kristal was the founder of CBGB‘s, the venue that launched Blondie and countless other bands of the 70′s and 80′s.  Weird huh?

The Wisdom of Frank Zappa

A while back I did a piece lambasting Rolling Stone.  I was pretty harsh.  However, not nearly as harsh as Frank Zappa was years ago: “Rock journalism is people who can’t write interviewing people who can’t talk for people who can’t read.” I shoulda just left well enough alone.

Charles Nelson Reilly

When I was a teen, and game shows dominated tv, Charles Nelson Reilly was one of the absolute funniest people that ever appeared on any of them.  Whenever he was on anything, my mom and I would make it a point to watch.  And, we really watched very little tv together.  Reilly died today.  He was 76.  I swear… (more…)

Be careful who’s daughters you talk about

Joe Francis has got to be the stupidest guy I know.  Give me a million bucks and I could probably bed the sluttiest celebs there are as well.  However, what I would not do, is talk a lot about it.  Let the tabloids do the talking, but not me.  No sirree, no way.  Here’s why. 4 White boys and The Godfather of Soul ( RIP James )

The hardest working man in showbiz has finally retired.  James Brown died last night.  He was the man who infused soul into the public mainstream and made it work.  He’ll be remembered forever for yelling “High! I feel GOOD!” I can’t think of a better way to be remembered.  Here’s how I remember him: Original post, August 14, 2004: Ever… (more…)

Rosie v The Donald, Round whatever

Every now and then media, gets it right.  Rosie and The Donald are duking it out, calling each other horrible names while claiming the upper hand in who has the better morals.  Foxnews looked at them where it truly matters, what they give back to society.  Surprisingly, the winner in that match is Rosie: The answer: Rosie, as it turns… (more…)

The Donald gets Rosie

Rosie O’Donnell decided to weigh in on the Tara Conner events. She wasn’t terribly flattering: “There he is, hair looping, going everyone, everyone deserves a second chance,” she began. “He’s the moral authority? Left the first wife, had an affair, left the second wife, had an affair, had kids both times, but he’s the moral compass for twenty year olds… (more…)
