Some dead, some alive. Some junkies, some not. However, on very few occasions do I claim them to be "heroes". Why would they be a hero? They entertain me. I love music, as some of them do. We have that in common. However, I'm tired of watching our society be totally wrecked by drugs. So many people that could have contributed and had meaningful lives just doing nothing but existing long enough to die. And, for most, their first exposure to drugs was their "heroes". Instead of propping these junkies up, how's about we celebrate those people who can manage to make great music and be creative without relying on a crux? It's possible. And some do it. Those are the heroes. Unfortunately, NME doesn't consider that hero material. They want a junkie pushing drugs on kids. My blog is full of homages to all kinds of rockers. Some dead, some alive.
