Just how old IS the NFL?

The NFL has sued several businesses, claiming they own the rights to the Fleur de Lis.  According to most sources, the Fleur de Lis goes back to about the 12th century.  It’s been all over stuff all of my life that I’m aware of.  And, I am older than the New Orleans Saints.  People are making fun of the NFL… (more…)

Bad refs, part infinitum

Last night was yet another example of why we need ref pressers after games. South Carolina player goes in for an uncontested putback, foul is called. John Wall is knocked completely out of bounds with a full body contact block attempt.  No foul is called. On the subsequent inbounds pass, Cousins is called for a hand check.  Even the announcers… (more…)

Refs need to answer to the people who pay them

And that ain’t the NCAA.  It’s the fans.  Tonight Texas A&M had #1 Texas on the ropes in what would have been a huge upset.  A&M had built a large lead, but Texas had whittled it down to a basket.  The game was decided by a rather bizarre call where a referee called a personal technical on A&M’s Bryan Davis.… (more…)
