Urban Meyer resigns

Just read that Urban Meyer is resigning after Florida’s Suger Bowl game on the 1st.  I am rather shocked.  No one liked losing to Florida when Steve Spurrier coached there.  But, losing to Urban Meyer never seemed so bad.  It was a classy 100% football guy in charge of the all-time greatest football program.  You just don’t lose to a… (more…)

John Wall

I’m a Kentucky fan.  So, obviously I’m enjoying John Wall’s most likely very brief stint with the Wildcats.  Every couple of years hey trot out the latest, greatest, Jordan-heir.  They play well enough to get out of college and off they go.  They usually aren’t a whole lot of fun to watch.  And, quite often, their teams don’t do all… (more…)

There go those rankings again, 2009 edition

What a day. #8 Tennessee got whipped, bad, by unranked Southern California.  USC is now 5-4. #11 Georgetown lost to Old Dominion.  Yeah, THE Old Dominion. #13 Florida lost to Richmond.  That’s a team from Virginia.  Richmond lost to Old Dominion too.  Old Dominion must be something to fear this year. The Saints lost. And tomorrow, #85 for the Bengals who… (more…)

Best 00′s GQ Cover?

That’s about like asking which donut out of a box Krispy Kremes is best.  I’ll let you all figure it out.  In the meantime, could someone clue Fox in that Top Ten lists usually have ten things in it? QuestionsView Results

The Death of Chris Henry

In 2006 I placed the blame of the bizarre season ending play that showed how completely inept the Bengals could be when about half the team was in jail.  I singled out Chris Henry. The guy had amazing talent coupled with blazing speed.  Chad Johnson Ochocinco and House-man-zah-deh stole the limelight, but when Henry actually played and caught the ball,… (more…)

Tiger’s women

This story has gone from sad, to pathetic, to surreal.  Now we’ve even got women wishing to remain anonymous claiming to have slept with Tiger.  Guess they want their cake and eat it too.  Which of course, is what Tiger wanted as well.  Now that his entire image has been reduced to that of the average mortal male, I’d like… (more…)

I’ll be proud to tell my kids I chipped in to the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, however little.

Context sensitive advertising makes for some really fun contradictions.  This one may be a little heady, but I love it:

Screen saver

Most screen savers on the internet are a dangerous proposition.  You’re as likely to get some worm, virus, or pop-ups you don’t want as you are the screen saver you did.  This one works pretty well.  Just click on the link and it’ll do its thing: screen cleaner H/T: Rain City Story.

City hears 82nd Ave prostitution plan is working

That’s the headline.  It’s early in the morning, so I didn’t feel like watching the video.  However, I’m not sure if that means the city is getting better prostitutes or if they’re teaching their prostitutes that the key to success is working. I’d suggest getting off their butts and working, but that just don’t seem right.  Get off their backs… (more…)
