Cry Little Sister

I have never in my life seen a song so wrongfully attributed.  If you Google the most excellent “Sisters of Mercy Cry Little Sister“, you get about 9,360 hits.  That wouldn’t bug me so much, but people will actually cite these pages as a source.  Like this:

One of those posters even goes so far to state it’s Sisters of Mercy, go look at the soundtrack.

Only problem is, Sisters of Mercy never recorded the song.  Ever.  It just sounds a lot like them.

The song for the soundtrack was recorded by Gerard McMahon under the pseudonym Gerard McMann.  Now, you know Gerard McMahon even if you don’t know who I’m talking about.  He’s written songs for a lot of very popular movies.  And, he’s written songs for some very popular artists.  He’s a story on his own.

However, this post is about one of my all time favorite songs.  And, since the internet’s not doing a good job giving credit where credit was due, I felt compelled to do it myself.
