Pretty dang sharp huh? That’s the new Miss USA, Tara Conner. What makes this pretty cool to me is Tara is pretty much from, and still lives, in my little community. To say the least, we’re EXTREMELY proud of her! She is the first ever Miss Kentucky to win Miss USA.
UPDATE: December 14, 2006: Apparently Tara’s having some fun in New York! I got a chance to ponder the consequences of these vague insinuations the Don has been making along with others. My thought is how many people today know who Vanessa Williams is? Now, contrast that with who can name the last five Miss USA’s?
And, my second thought was, could this have been a clue?
I don’t think she’s ever promoted the image of being a saint.
I think she’ll do just fine without the title. Probably a good thing to focus on her career a little more than partying at this point. But, she’s definitely got the “talent” a lot of studios are looking for!
UPDATE: December 16, 2006: Well, the story is out that Tara’s already been stripped of her crown due to bad behavior. Don’t know how much truth there is to it, but given all the speculation going on, I either believe it’s true now or will be very shortly. What a shame. It’s pretty amazing to me that New York City apparently can’t handle a Kentucky gal. I’ve always known that personally. Wonder if Tara will hook up with Paris/Britney/Lindsey now?
UPDATE December 19, 2006: Well, looks like Tara’s hanging around for a few more months. Also looks to me like The Don manufactured a billion dollars worth of free publicity. I mean, after all the headlines, all the gossip, all the blogging, and all the media hoopla, nothing actually happened. There are no pictures, there is no actual scandal, there is nothing. The only thing that happened was millions of people talked about something after May they haven’t talked about since Vanessa Williams.

If her family is who I think they are, I’ll bet she does have lots of “personality”.

Congrats to Tara… a real looker! Forthcoming contact from Playboy I’m sure. As far as “personality”, I take it there are no Miss USA restrictions on enhancing one’s self. So I wonder, what is the difference between improving yourself to have a better chance of winning a beauty contest and improving yourself to win a sports game?
Space, I’m glad you “got” my reference to “personality” since “its what’s upfront that counts.” I suspect that it doesn’t really matter if its natural or enhanced though. I don’t think there are restrictions.
Per some cursory reading, Miss USA babes can get all the enhancements they want.
As far as comparing baseball to beauty contests, I see no difference at all. However, I’ve always been one to allow sports players to blow their brains out on steroids it they want. Getting bigger firmer boobs isn’t quite in the same category as steroids tho. I mean, baseball players can have all the cosmetic surgery they want. Steroids are just as illegal for beauty contestants as baseball players. Now, any baseball player can crank themself up on diet pills before a game just as any pageant candidate. So, the rules are pretty much the same for both. The need and the legality is what’s different.

The contestants might buys boobs, fingernails, make-up, hair color but they sure don’t get those abs, legs and arms from lying on the couch eating cookies. And anyone who thinks prancing around in 5 inch heels is easy is tougher than I am. I don’t want to try it! This Kentucky Chick rawks!
I pranced around in 5 inch heels Halloween before last. I can assure anyone, that takes talent and practice. I chose to give it a rest and leave it to the pros. And yeah, Tara rawks!

I had the extreme priveledge of spending a large amount of my weekend with Tara while she was Grand Marshalling the Busch race at the Kentucky Speedway (my fiancé drove her limo). I can honestly say that I’ve never met someone so humble, sweet and friendly as Tara. She never made the first underlying comment or gesture to make me feel that her “title” had gone to her head. She’s a knock-out for sure, and your town should be so proud - but she is more beautiful on the inside than what is displayed on the outside. She’s proud of who she is and where she’s came from!! I can only hope that her explosive personality ups the ante with a Miss Universe sash on July 23!
I am so excited for Tara. Even though I’m an Indiana girl, she was still like a hometown favorite for me since my dad is from the town where she goes to college, so I felt like I had even more reason to root for her! She is beautiful, of course! I wanted her to win so badly, and I am usually good at picking winners (since I am a pageant girl myself) but I was a little worried when I was comparing the on-stage answers by both Tara and Miss California. But what it all comes down to, its not about the fake breasts, fake hair, makeup, and whatnot (all of that has just become a norm of our society, I mean for goodness sakes look at those “Housewives of the OC”) the judges pick the girl who they fall in love with. And I completely understand what they saw in Tara! Plus, she’s representin all of us girls who are “5′5″ and under. And you bet those 5 inch shoes are a PAIN. I have the exact ones she wore at Miss USA, and I’m still trying to break them in before my National Pageant! Way to go girl!

Tara and I went to high school at Russell County High in 2004. She is a very sweet and nice person and if no one likes her then they are just wrong. she is a very pretty girl on the inside just like the out. well any way she is a nice girl. GO TARA!

I saw her on Project Runway today, it is so refreshing to see someone speak and carry themselves in such a way that conveys all of the hard work and hard choices required to become a truly exceptional person. Someone with a spirit that actually beams kindness, compassion, sincerity and all of the fruits of the Spirit so effectively that it actually makes everyone around them feel better about themselves…then combine it with someone as striking as Tara and you have yourself just about the best example of something very rare and incredibly special making beautiful search for breath.

I am from Taras hometown and I just want to say that I for one am VERY proud of the accomplishments that she has made, cause hell, anybody that can do good an get outta this place I am all for it!!! She is a very sweet and nice person and I had the pleasure of spending time with her when she was at the South Ky. While we’re here admiring and rooting for Miss USA, I was told that Miss Indonesia received death threats due to her participation in Miss Universe supposedly them fundies are against the sexy swimsuit - although her swimsuit looks really lame to me. Ironically, she is only half Indonesian - and half German.

I was born and raised in Lexington, moved to Somerset at 2. Moved back to Lexington a couple of times, and left again. Moved to Washington DC for a bit, and came back again. Ya see, they don’t make people in cities quite the way they do here. And, I know for a fact the beauty of this region “trumps” anything you have now. So, we may have some people here who don’t pursue education as they should. We have people here have problems. But, I’m quite certain where you live now there are just as many or more with the same problems as well. Being as you’re there now and not here just means where ever you are, they’ve got one problem we don’t have to deal with here.
Get over your shame. Just because you couldn’t hack it here doesn’t mean you can’t be happy somewhere else.

I’m not holding out much hope for the lovely Miss Conner, but you never know with Donald Trump. This could all be a PR stunt.

Every move The Donald makes is a publicity stunt in one way or another. I don’t think he really plans it that way, he just makes it happen.
I’m am worried about her though. I don’t want to offend anyone who knows her, as apparently there’s a few people here who do. I really don’t know how to say this. I guess bluntly would be the best method. There’s countless examples of guys coking out girls for their own purposes. Trump is putting a few pageant girls up in his complex, if I understand correctly. Tara, if true, tested positive for cocaine, and how many wives has Trump had? I’m afraid that she might be being ‘groomed’ so to speak, along with the others. I worry that if I’m right, she’s heading down a dark path. I think she just needs to leave New York and go back home with her parents. I’m removed from the situation so I don’t know. I just got some strange vibes from the situation. I also don’t believe that it’s fair that the media should scrutinize her more than, no offense, more important people. Bill Clinton and his brother were runnin coke out of Mena, Arkansas, but the media didn’t make a big deal about that. They pick on a young woman living a tough new life. She’s still young; young people tend to party and that sort of thing. I should know, I’m like 4 years older than her. I’ve done drugs and alcohol. Been there, done that, and somehow managed to live to tell the story. If you want to know what rich people with a lot of power like to involve themselves in, read The Franklin Coverup. Such is why I worry.
Tara Conner Miss USA was given a second chance from Donald Trump. From the press conference, it looks as if Tara is sincere about improving her public image. It looks like she improved her public image.

Anon, I really don’t think that’s what happened. What spooks everyone is The Donald giving her a second chance. A young girl from the country partying it up in The Big Apple wasn’t really the story so much as The Donald’s very active and visible involvement in the situation. The Donald’s a little older than I am. I can speak with a certain amount of confidence that he’s not grooming her to be the Next Trumpess. She’s beautiful as all get-out, and apparently likes to have a good time. I think the Donald’s perspective is coming more from a marketing guru and fatherly figure that if she can calm down and get serious, she can be a superstar in some capacity, movies, tv, or whatever. If that happens, The Donald makes another fortune. So, I do agree with you that I don’t think The Donald’s are puritanical in any way. However, I don’t think I agree on why.

I see your point. I can agree with you that that’s a likely scenario. Whether or not either of us are right, I don’t know. I’m not a mind reader. I still think she needs to leave New York though. That place is not good for her. I know that you can get drugs anywhere, case in point, I live in a small town as well, and I did some speed and weed earlier. I just do not want to see her spiral down the drug path. I’m there, and I know what it’s like. I hope that she doesn’t turn that corner. As I understand, she just turned 21, and I just turned 25. We’re about the same age, so I can identify with the drugs and partying. I just left the partying, haven’t been able to kick the drugs.

I think the only reason Tara got to keep her crown was because they really didn’t have anything to go on other than rumor and heresay. In a court of law, that’ll get ya a settlement at best. If you’ve seen the latest Mrs. Trump, you’d probably wouldn’t be so quick to jump to the easiest conclusion. Not all men aspire for young, inexperienced kids.
