Pretty dang sharp huh? That’s the new Miss USA, Tara Conner. What makes this pretty cool to me is Tara is pretty much from, and still lives, in my little community. To say the least, we’re EXTREMELY proud of her! She is the first ever Miss Kentucky to win Miss USA.

UPDATE: December 14, 2006: Apparently Tara’s having some fun in New York! I got a chance to ponder the consequences of these vague insinuations the Don has been making along with others. My thought is how many people today know who Vanessa Williams is? Now, contrast that with who can name the last five Miss USA’s?

And, my second thought was, could this have been a clue?

I don’t think she’s ever promoted the image of being a saint.

I think she’ll do just fine without the title. Probably a good thing to focus on her career a little more than partying at this point. But, she’s definitely got the “talent” a lot of studios are looking for!

UPDATE: December 16, 2006: Well, the story is out that Tara’s already been stripped of her crown due to bad behavior. Don’t know how much truth there is to it, but given all the speculation going on, I either believe it’s true now or will be very shortly. What a shame. It’s pretty amazing to me that New York City apparently can’t handle a Kentucky gal. I’ve always known that personally. Wonder if Tara will hook up with Paris/Britney/Lindsey now?

UPDATE December 19, 2006: Well, looks like Tara’s hanging around for a few more months. Also looks to me like The Don manufactured a billion dollars worth of free publicity. I mean, after all the headlines, all the gossip, all the blogging, and all the media hoopla, nothing actually happened. There are no pictures, there is no actual scandal, there is nothing. The only thing that happened was millions of people talked about something after May they haven’t talked about since Vanessa Williams.

    Chris, you’ve got issues a lot deeper than where you’re from.

    I was born and raised in Lexington, moved to Somerset at 2. Moved back to Lexington a couple of times, and left again. Moved to Washington DC for a bit, and came back again. Ya see, they don’t make people in cities quite the way they do here. And, I know for a fact the beauty of this region “trumps” anything you have now. So, we may have some people here who don’t pursue education as they should. We have people here have problems. But, I’m quite certain where you live now there are just as many or more with the same problems as well. Being as you’re there now and not here just means where ever you are, they’ve got one problem we don’t have to deal with here.

    Get over your shame. Just because you couldn’t hack it here doesn’t mean you can’t be happy somewhere else.

    I would suspect that the ones doing the virtriolic spewing of lambasting this girl are probably the ones who want to be the moral keepers rather than a compassionate member of society.

    Every move The Donald makes is a publicity stunt in one way or another. I don’t think he really plans it that way, he just makes it happen.

    I’m am worried about her though. I don’t want to offend anyone who knows her, as apparently there’s a few people here who do. I really don’t know how to say this. I guess bluntly would be the best method. There’s countless examples of guys coking out girls for their own purposes. Trump is putting a few pageant girls up in his complex, if I understand correctly. Tara, if true, tested positive for cocaine, and how many wives has Trump had? I’m afraid that she might be being ‘groomed’ so to speak, along with the others. I worry that if I’m right, she’s heading down a dark path. I think she just needs to leave New York and go back home with her parents. I’m removed from the situation so I don’t know. I just got some strange vibes from the situation. I also don’t believe that it’s fair that the media should scrutinize her more than, no offense, more important people. Bill Clinton and his brother were runnin coke out of Mena, Arkansas, but the media didn’t make a big deal about that. They pick on a young woman living a tough new life. She’s still young; young people tend to party and that sort of thing. I should know, I’m like 4 years older than her. I’ve done drugs and alcohol. Been there, done that, and somehow managed to live to tell the story. If you want to know what rich people with a lot of power like to involve themselves in, read The Franklin Coverup. Such is why I worry.

    Tara Conner Miss USA was given a second chance from Donald Trump. From the press conference, it looks as if Tara is sincere about improving her public image. It looks like she improved her public image.

    Anon, I really don’t think that’s what happened. What spooks everyone is The Donald giving her a second chance. A young girl from the country partying it up in The Big Apple wasn’t really the story so much as The Donald’s very active and visible involvement in the situation. The Donald’s a little older than I am. I can speak with a certain amount of confidence that he’s not grooming her to be the Next Trumpess. She’s beautiful as all get-out, and apparently likes to have a good time. I think the Donald’s perspective is coming more from a marketing guru and fatherly figure that if she can calm down and get serious, she can be a superstar in some capacity, movies, tv, or whatever. If that happens, The Donald makes another fortune. So, I do agree with you that I don’t think The Donald’s are puritanical in any way. However, I don’t think I agree on why.

    I see your point. I can agree with you that that’s a likely scenario. Whether or not either of us are right, I don’t know. I’m not a mind reader. I still think she needs to leave New York though. That place is not good for her. I know that you can get drugs anywhere, case in point, I live in a small town as well, and I did some speed and weed earlier. I just do not want to see her spiral down the drug path. I’m there, and I know what it’s like. I hope that she doesn’t turn that corner. As I understand, she just turned 21, and I just turned 25. We’re about the same age, so I can identify with the drugs and partying. I just left the partying, haven’t been able to kick the drugs.

    I think the only reason Tara got to keep her crown was because they really didn’t have anything to go on other than rumor and heresay. In a court of law, that’ll get ya a settlement at best. If you’ve seen the latest Mrs. Trump, you’d probably wouldn’t be so quick to jump to the easiest conclusion. Not all men aspire for young, inexperienced kids.
